These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Clique website, mobile applications, platform, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

Clique is designed to help people connect, participate in conversations and activities, build relationships, and stay socially engaged.

By accessing or using Clique, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

 

1. About Clique

Clique provides a digital social platform that enables users to connect with other people, participate in group and one-on-one conversations, join or create activities and social groups (“Cliques”), and maintain social connections over time.

Some users may access Clique independently, while others may access Clique through an organization, community, senior center, care organization, or other participating partner (“Organization”).

Certain features may use technology, including artificial intelligence, to support the user experience, facilitate conversations, recommend activities or connections, and help create a safer and more inclusive environment.

Clique is intended to support social connection. It is not a medical, healthcare, emergency, counseling, or crisis response service.

 

2. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms in your jurisdiction to use Clique.

If you access Clique through an Organization, additional eligibility requirements or rules established by that Organization may apply.

You agree to provide accurate information when creating or using your account and to keep your information reasonably up to date.

 

3. Your Account

Some features of Clique require an account.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity conducted through your account.

Please notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed or used without your permission.

You may not impersonate another person, create an account using false information, or allow another person to use your account in a way that violates these Terms.

 

4. Using Clique

Clique is built around respectful human connection.

When using the Services, you agree to treat other members with respect and to use Clique only for lawful purposes.

 

You may not use Clique to:

 

• harass, threaten, intimidate, exploit, or abuse another person;

• discriminate against or target individuals or groups in a harmful manner;

• share content that is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise seriously inappropriate;

• attempt to obtain another user’s financial information, passwords, or other sensitive information;

• impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;

• engage in scams, fraud, unwanted commercial solicitation, or deceptive activity;

• interfere with the operation, security, or integrity of the Services;

• attempt to gain unauthorized access to Clique, another user’s account, or related systems;

• use automated systems, bots, scraping tools, or similar technologies to access or collect information from the Services without our permission;

• use Clique in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of another person.

 

We may take appropriate action when we believe these rules have been violated, including restricting or suspending access to the Services.

 

5. Cliques, Conversations, and Activities

Clique allows users to participate in group conversations, one-on-one interactions, activities, and other social experiences.

Some Cliques may be created or facilitated by Clique, an Organization, another user, or through automated or technology-supported features.

Participation in a Clique does not mean that Clique has verified, endorsed, or approved every participant or everything that may be said or shared during an interaction.

You are responsible for deciding what personal information you choose to share with other members.

Please use appropriate judgment when interacting with people you meet through Clique, particularly before sharing sensitive information or arranging interactions outside the platform.

 

6. Organizations

If you use Clique through an Organization, that Organization may manage certain aspects of your experience, such as inviting participants, creating activities, facilitating Cliques, or accessing information made available through organizational features.

The Organization is responsible for its own programs, personnel, activities, policies, and interactions with its participants.

Clique is not responsible for services independently provided by an Organization.

Where applicable, information about how personal information is handled by Clique and participating Organizations will be described in our Privacy Policy and any applicable agreements with the Organization.

 

7. Content You Share

You may be able to share information, messages, images, profile information, comments, or other content through Clique (“User Content”).

You retain ownership of your User Content.

By sharing User Content through the Services, you give Clique a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, display, transmit, and otherwise use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, improve, and provide the Services.

This license does not transfer ownership of your content to Clique.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to share the content you provide and that your content does not violate these Terms, applicable law, or the rights of others.

 

8. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Features

Clique may use artificial intelligence and other automated technologies to support certain features of the Services.

Depending on the feature, these technologies may help facilitate conversations, suggest topics or activities, support participation, personalize aspects of the experience, identify patterns that may help improve engagement, or support safety-related functionality.

Automated systems are not perfect. Their suggestions, classifications, or outputs may be incomplete or inaccurate and should not be treated as professional, medical, psychological, or emergency advice.

Clique’s technology is intended to support human interaction, not replace human judgment or professional care.

9. Safety and Emergencies

Clique is not an emergency service and should not be used to request emergency assistance.

If you or another person may be in immediate danger or require urgent medical attention, contact your local emergency services or an appropriate emergency provider.

Clique may provide tools for reporting concerning behavior or content. We may review reports and take action when appropriate, but we cannot guarantee that we will identify or prevent every harmful interaction.

If you encounter behavior on Clique that makes you feel unsafe or appears to violate these Terms, please report it through the available support or reporting tools.

 

10. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us.

Our collection, use, storage, and sharing of personal information is described in the Clique Privacy Policy.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that your information will be handled as described in that policy.

 

11. Intellectual Property

Except for User Content and third-party materials, the Services and their content, features, software, design, branding, graphics, interfaces, trademarks, and other materials are owned by or licensed to Clique and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may use the Services only for their intended purposes.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, sell, license, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit any part of the Services except where expressly permitted by Clique or applicable law.

 

12. Third-Party Services

Clique may integrate with or provide links to third-party services, such as calendar services, messaging services, app stores, video technologies, or other external platforms.

Those services are operated by third parties and may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Clique is not responsible for the availability, content, security, or practices of third-party services that we do not control.

 

13. Availability and Changes to the Services

We work to keep Clique available and functioning reliably, but we cannot guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

We may update, modify, add, suspend, or discontinue features as the platform evolves.

Where reasonably possible, we will try to avoid unnecessary disruption to users.

 

14. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Clique at any time.

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the Services if we reasonably believe that:

 

• these Terms have been violated;

• an account creates a risk to another person, Clique, or the Services;

• access is required to be restricted by law;

• an Organization through which access was provided ends or changes a user’s eligibility; or

• suspension or termination is reasonably necessary to protect the security or integrity of the Services.

 

Where appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to address the issue.

 

15. Disclaimer

Clique provides the Services on an “as available” and “as is” basis to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Clique is designed to support social connection and engagement, but we do not guarantee that using the Services will result in particular relationships, social outcomes, health outcomes, or improvements in wellbeing.

Interactions between users are inherently personal and may vary.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Clique disclaims warranties that are not expressly stated in these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded.

 

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Clique and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or relating to your use of the Services.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law.

 

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Clique and our Services evolve or as legal requirements change.

If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice through the Services, our website, email, or another appropriate method.

The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were most recently revised.

Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective means that you accept the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

 

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Clique’s contracting entity, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under local consumer protection or other laws that cannot be waived by these Terms.
